The world’s oldest person, Susannah Mushatt Jones, bade goodbye to this world at the age of 116.
According to reports, Jones died at a nursing home in Brooklyn, New York, on Thursday night.
Born in a small farm town near Montgomery, Alabama, in 1899, Jones in the past had attributed her longevity to sleep, clean living and positive energy.
During this 116 years long journey, Jones witnessed a remarkable stretch of modern history including two world wars and the rise of the civil rights movement in America.
She was reported as the world’s oldest living person by Guinness World Records in 2015, after the death of 117-year-old Misao Okawa who was from Tokyo.
