PM Modi Not To Take Part In SAARC Summit In Islamabad: MEA

Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not take part in the SAARC summit, which is sxcheduled to take place in Islamabad.

The decision comes amid the rising tension between the two nations following the terrorist attack in Uri in which 18 Indian soldiers were killed.

MEA said that in the prevailing circumstances, the Government of India is unable to participate in the proposed Summit in Islamabad.

According to reports, India conveyed to current SAARC Chair Nepal that increasing cross-border terrorist attacks in the region and growing interference in internal affairs of Member States by one country created environment that’s not conducive to successful holding of summit in Islamabad.
