At least 42 people were killed in a wave of suicide bombings at security security targets in the southeastern Yemeni city of Mukalla on Monday.
Terror organisation Islamic State claimed the responsibility for the attacks which killed 40 soldiers, a women and a child and injured nearly 37 others.
According to reports, in the first attack a suicide bomber on a motorbike asked soilders if
he could eat with them before blowing himself up.
In another attack, two suicide bombers approached soilders on foot before detonating
Shortly afterwards, two suicide bombers launched another attack and blew themselves
up at the entrance of an army camp.
The area attacked has been mostly controlled by al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and IS
before government forces backed by Saudi-coalition intervened in Yemen and launched attack against Houthi rebels and recapturing the city.
