Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed has on Thursday claimed that terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) was behind the protests in Kashmir Valley.
The Kashmir unrest followed the Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani’s killing in an encounter by Indian security forces.
As per a report in India Today, The JuD chief claimed that a LeT militant led the processions in Kashmir Valley following the killing of Wani in Srinagar.
Saeed said, “Have you seen the pictures of procession when lakhs of Kashmiris came to the streets? Did you see a man who was being carried on shoulders by the crowd? Do you know the man who was leading the procession? He is an ‘ameer’ of Laskar-e-Toiba (LeT).”

Hafiz’s statements against LeT came when Pakistan is trying hard to gain solidarity with the people over the unrest in the region.
“Several people from Faisalabad went to Kashmir, many of them even sacrificed their lives,” Hafiz Saeed added.
“Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir and by God’s grace, Kashmir will become a part of it someday,” he said while reiterating Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s speech.
“One day the world would witness India splitting into pieces,” he added.
