In what can be described as an inspiring tale of dedication and will-power, a 100-year-old-Indian woman won accolades after she picked up a gold medal at the Americas Masters Games in Vancouver.

Mann kaur, who hails from Chandigarh, completed the 100-meter dash in a minute and a half and was the only female competitor in her age category.

Kaur’s son, Gurdev Singh, who was also competiting in the event, told the media that his mother began running at the age of 93 and has won more than 20 medals in Masters Games across the globe.

He further said that his mother’s energy and drive to compete have become an inspiration to participants in the unique international event for athletes over 30.
