A fresh case of discrimination against the northeast people came in light when, a student of Delhi University Niyang Pertin from Arunachal Pradesh was discriminated at Delhi’s Jama Masjid.
Niyang and her few friends were asked to pay Rs 300 to carry their phone inside the premises of Jama Masjid, while others were allowed to go in without any such charge.
But the best was, instead of accepting it, in order to raise her voice against this discrimination she uploaded a video on Twitter narrating the whole incident.
“I and my friends were particularly targeted and asked to pay Rs 300 each to take mobile phones inside the premises of Jama Masjid. When we asked as to why only we are being charged, we were told to mind our own business,” Niyang said.
