QueenvChinaIn a rare diplomatic gaffe, 90-year-old British Monarch Queen Elizabeth II was filmed describing members of the Chinese delegation that visited Britain last year as “very rude.”

Her remarks were recorded by a pool cameraman authorised to cover the event and then broadcasted by BBC.

The incident did not go well with China, which reacted by censoring BBC’s coverage of the event on TV and blocking the webpages carrying the news.

The rare diplomatic gaffe was recorded at the first garden party of the year at the Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.

She was introduced to the Metropolitan Police Commander Lucy D’Orsi, who had overseen security during President Xi Jinping’s visit to Britain last october.

When D’Orsi recalled the time when the Chinese official walked out of Lancaster House telling her that the trip was off.

The queen reacted by saying, “They were very rude to the Ambassador.”
