Commuters of Delhi Metro on April 9 faced a embarrassing yet shocking moment, when a porn video clip was aired on the advertisement display at Rajiv Chowk metro station.

The video was displayed at the metro station sometime around afternoon amidst the hustle bustle of the station.

While many of the commuters were left embarrassed, on the other hand, some of them took time and even captured the incident on their mobile phones. Later, the video recorded by one of the commuter surfaced on internet and went viral.

The 30-second-long amateur video has been circulating on social media. In the viral video, the ‘clip’ can be seen playing on one of the screens of a giant video wall, a grid of 12 LED screens. While some commuters can be seen passing by it without noticing, some of them can bee seen filming it on mobile phones.

Soon after the video made by commuter went viral, it forced authorities to take an immediate give response to it. Delhi Metro Rail Coporation (DMRC) has also constituted a committee to probe into the matter.

The LED TV screen where the porn clip got aired was actually affixed there to air advertisements.  The screen was given on contract to a third party.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), meanwhile, said it has launched a probe into the case, while the Delhi Police said it has not received any complaint yet.

“The DMRC is not aware about this clip. However,this LED screen was under commissioning and testing by a private contractor and same is still under commissioning. The work is still not completed.

“We will check all the details of the testing and commissioning process of the contractor to check whether any such clip was played on the LED screen at Rajiv Chowk station and take adequate safeguards action,” the DMRC said in a statement.

A senior official said once the veracity of the video, shot on April 9, is ascertained, action will be taken on those responsible for it.

Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, located at Connaught Place in central Delhi, falls on the busy intersection of Blue Line and Yellow Line of the metro network, and receives a heavy footfall daily.
