Microsoft announced that it was stopping the production of its popular gaming console Xbox 360 after 10 years.
“The Xbox 360 helped redefine an entire generation of gaming at Microsoft. I am incredibly proud of all of the work and dedication that went into development of the Xbox 360 hardware, services and games portfolio over the last decade. And I’m grateful to the fans for their continued passion and support,” Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer said while reflecting back on the achievements of Xbox.
Though Microsoft is stopping the production of new Xbox 360 consoles, it will continue to sell existing inventory of Xbox 360 consoles in each country.
The company also announced that the support for Xbox 360 services will also remain active and the gamers will be able to buy over 4,000 Xbox 360 games at retail and online stores while the supplies last.
