Social Media giant Facebook is now taken up high route and has decided to follow the footsteps of YouTube.
The company has released an update for its Android users that allows them to save a
video for offline viewing. The update is available versions 85 and 86 (beta) of the app.
The video is saved inside the ‘Saved’ section and can be viewed offline as many times as
the user desires. The catch however is that the video is also not accessible independently to its users.
Company’s move to restrict the access to the video is obvious and is in-line with Google’s strategy in case of YouTube, wherein the company is giving unlimited access to its users while promoting its own platform.
