1. Gareth Bale

The 26-year-old moved to the Spanish capital club from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 and has already won two Champions League tournaments with them in three years. The 10-time European champions paid a world record fee of 85.2 million Pounds to Tottenham in securing his services.


2. Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid bought Ronaldo in a world-record bid of 80 million Pounds from Manchester United in 2009. Cristiano Ronaldo is Real Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer with 365 goals in all competitions.


3. Luka Modrić

Real Madrid bought Croatia captain Luka Modric for 33 million Pounds from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012. In November 2014, Modrić signed a new contract to stay at Real Madrid until 2018.

4. Luis Suárez

In July 2014, Uruguayan footballer Luis Suárez moved from Liverpool to Barcelona on a five-year contract for a fee of 64.98 million Pounds.  Suárez is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world. He scored his first goal for the club on 26 November 2014 in a 4–0 win at APOEL in the UEFA Champions League group stage.  On 20 December he scored his first league goal for the club in his eighth La Liga match, contributing to a 5–0 home win against Córdoba.


5. Fernando Torres

On 5 July 2016, Fernando Torres extended his contract for another one year with Atlético Madrid. On 6 February 2016, Torres scored his 100th goal with Atlético Madrid in a 3–1 home league victory against SD Eibar on his 295th appearance for the club.[141] The following month he marked the occasion of his 300th appearance for Atlético Madrid by scoring in a 3–1 victory over Valencia.

6. Gerard Piqué

On 27 May 2008, Piqué signed a four-year contract with Barcelona, with a 5 million Pounds buy-out clause. On 13 May 2009, he picked up the first trophy of his Barcelona career as he helped his club to a 4–1 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey Final. On 20 May 2014, Piqué signed a contract extension with Barcelona, keeping him at the club until 2019.
