Wrestler Sushil Kumar on Monday moved the Delhi High Court demanding a trial for his inclusion in the list of probables to be sent to Rio de Janerio for the summer Olympics that start on August 5.
Two-time Olympic medallist wants to participate in trials for the 74-kg weight category. However, Narsingh Yadav was selected in this division after he won the bronze medal in 2015 at World Wrestling Championship in Las Vegas.
Meanwhile, Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday ruled out the government’s intervention, saying that the matter is for WFI to decide.
Sushil who grappled in the 66-kg category in Beijing and London, shifted to 74kg in 2014 and has demanded a selection for the Rio games since then.
