The 2016 Rio Olympics will see seven Indian badminton players participating in the quadrennial event.
Seven Indians – Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, Jwala Gutta, Ashwini Ponnappa, Manu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy, have qualified for Rio.
Saina and PV Sindhu will represent India in the women’s singles competition in Rio.
Saina has been troubled with injuries since late last year, however she has recovered well, and of late her performances have been decent.
India’s chief coach, Pullela Gopichand hopes for medals this time.
