mryStar Indian woman boxer MC Mary Kom may still make it to the Rio Olympics 2016 as the Indian Boxing Council have decided to seek a wild card entry to allow 2012 Olympic bronze medalist take part in the Summer Games.

Five-time world champion Mary Kom’s hopes of a second successive Olympic appearance ended earlier this month after she went down in the second round of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships

Mary Kom lost 0-2 to Germany’s Azize Nimani in second round bouts of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Astana.

Another contender for a Rio 2016 berth- Sarita Devi-also bowed out early in the same event. So far, only Shiva Thapa has booked the quota for Rio 2016 in the 75kg category.
