Rio 2016: India’s Last Hope For Gold ‘Yogeshwar Dutt’ Gets Tricky Draw In 65kg Category

India’s last hope for gold at Rio Olympics ‘Yogeshwar Dutt’ will kick start his campaign in the 65kg freestyle wrestling on Sunday, around 5 pm IST.

In the first round, Dutt would be facing Ganzorigiin Mandakhnaran of Mongolia.

However, later on the campaign will become tricky.

Dutt is likely to face Russia’s Soslan Ramonov – 2014 worlds gold and 2015 bronze winner in the quarter-final. If he gets past him, Uzbek’s Ikhtoyor Navruzov – reigning silver medallist – could meet in semis.

London Games bronze medallist is India’s third medal hopes in Rio 2016 Olympics.

Yogeshwar’s journey to securing an Olympic quota place hasn’t been very smooth. Having recovered from three surgeries in 2015, he managed to book a ticket to Rio this year.

Yogeshwar, qualified for Rio Olympics from Asian Olympic Qualifiers held in Astana in February 2016.

Yogeshwar Dutt is trying hard not to let the Narsingh Yadav episode affect him ahead of his event.

Wrestler Sushil Kumar on Sunday, wished Dutt good luck.

Sushil said “I want to wish all the best to Yogeshwar Dutt for today, whole of India is praying for him.”
