India Is ‘Phenomenally Proud’ Of Its Athletes In Rio, Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, lauded India’s contingent in Rio Olympics, saying that the country is ‘phenomenally proud’ of them and their hard work that got them there.

Modi’s statement came after cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar requested him to raise the morale of all Indian athletes at Rio.

PM took and twitter and tweeted:

Praising Tenulkar’s suggestion, PM said “Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar, one of India’s most admired sportspersons wanted me to speak on India’s athletes in Rio, on 15th August. I appreciate the thought of Sachin Tendulkar but I want to add- why wait for 15th August to speak about the subject? I want to do so now,” Modi said, adding that victory and defeat are all part of life.” Boosting athletes’morale, PM Modi tweeted :
