Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki has pulled out of the French Open because of injury.
“The 25-year-old has been struggling with an ankle problem and missed recent tournaments in Madrid and Rome, dropping to 34 in the world,” the WTA said in a statement.
Belinda Bencic of Switzerland, the world number eight, has also withdrawn because of a back injury.
The 19-year-old will be replaced in the main draw by Lauren Davis, who reached the second round at Roland Garros in 2012.
The draw for the tournament takes place on Friday.
