seema punia32-year old discus thrower from Haryana ‘Seema Antil Punia’ on Sunday qualified for upcoming Olympics in Rio de Janiero after winning gold at the Young Thrower’s Classic in California.

The Athletics Federation of India announced that with a throw of 62.62 metres, the 2014 Asian Games champion in women’s discus throw, Seema Antil-Punia has earned a spot in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Earlier, Punia won gold at the Asian Games in 2014 and has represented the country in the 2004 and 2012 Olympics.
