Most of the boxes in all departments are ticking for India but full credit to West Indies for manging a draw in Jamaica .This is why cricket is called a game of glorious uncertainties. Finally few positives for West Indies the way Roston Chase got that brilliant hundred and picked five wickets , the support Blackwood and the captain Holder batted to salvage some pride and keep the series open. Still credit to the way this Virat led side is playing you suddenly feel the big vaccum created by the departure of Sachin and Dravid from international cricket has been filled by a few batsman. We all know Virat has been just brilliant in recent months but credit to Rahane as well who has been the rock of Gibraltar in the middle order and once again proved by getting another Test hundred at Jamaica. Overall the batting department is looking solid and hungry and India batted really well getting 500 in the first innings. One man that needs a special mention is KL Rahul who got a God sent opportunity and made the most of it. He is having a dream run in international cricket across different formats and looks a cricketer who is going to wear the Indian colours for a long time. The best part in his batting apart from being very stylish is the balance and looks at great ease at the international level.

Also the way India bowled on Day 1 at Jamaica was very impressive. Starting from the seamers Shami once again looked in great rhythm and has been the best Indian fast bowler on view in this series sofar. Ashwin getting another fiver and proving that he is the best off spinner in the world at the moment. He has added a lot of variations in his armoury and on a day one wicket where you expect the faster bowlers to deliver more it was the offie who did the most damage. West Indies would have hoped to bat well in the first innings but their misery continued. It is always tough for a side to save a Test match after being dismissed for a paltry 196 in the first innings. They badly wanted the rain gods to help them and the Gods did oblige them with just about 16 overs on Day 4. The match went to the fifth day after Once again the top order disappointed for the West Indies after they were reduced to 48 for 4.Their middle order batsman Jermaine Blackwood and Roston Chase showed a lot of determination and character and that should give the local fans something to smile about. The youngsters came to the party and Iam sure Kumble would have spoken to our bowlers at length after the game. To finish games at the Test level is important. But whatever it is good to see a fightback from West Indies and their revival of sorts in the longest format. The series is open and the third Test in a few days time is going to be more interesting with this drawn Test.
