Refusing a plea seeking a stay, the Supreme Court on Wednesday said that BCCI’s Special General Meeting on May 22 in Mumbai to elect its new president following the resignation of Shashank Manohar will go ahead as planned.

Earlier Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB) moved SC seeking stay on BCCI election for office bearers.

BCCI to hold a Special General Meeting on May 22 in Mumbai to elect its new president following the resignation of Shashank Manohar.

Manohar’s exit from the top post on May 10 barely seven months into his tenure has necessitated the election of the new chief of the world’s richest and most powerful cricket body. He was elected as ICC’s first independent chairman on May 12.
