The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will on Monday afternoon announce the squads for India’s forthcoming tours of Zimbabwe and West Indies.
Team India is scheduled to play three-match ODI as well T20 series against Zimbabwe from June 11 to 22, before traveling to the Caribbean Islands for a four-Test series in July-August, the schedule of which is yet to be announced.
There were reports that India’s star batsman Virat Kohli along with Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are likely to be rested for this tour rested while the status of ODI and T20I captain, MS Dhoni, remains unclear.
For Zimbabwe, KL Rahul, who has scored 348 runs in 13 matches (before the start of DD game,) can be used as wicketkeeper-batsman while Rishabh Pant, whose talent has been the talk of the town, will be a dark horse.
With 16 wickets in the IPL, RCB leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal should also fancy his chances for the Zimbabwe tour.
