Union Ministers Najma Heptulla, GM Siddeshwara Resign From Union Cabinet
President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday accepted the resignation of Minister of Minority Affairs Dr. Najma A. Heptulla and Minister of State (MoS) G.M. Siddeshwara, with immediate effects.

In a major reshuffle in the Union Cabinet, President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday
accepted the resignation of Minister of Minority Affairs Dr. Najma A. Heptulla
and Minister of State (MoS) G.M. Siddeshwara, with immediate effects.

The President has dircted M. A. Naqvi, MoS, to take over as Independent charge of Ministry of Minority Affairs.

Further, Babul Supriyo, MoS, has been relieved of charge in the Ministry of Urban Development and in Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation. He has now been assigned portfolio of MoS in the Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises.

The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has accepted the resignation of Najma A. Heptulla and G.M. Siddeshwara,” a Rashtrapati Bhawan communique said.
