Addressing a press conference in Samajwadi Party Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav’s home turf of Etawa, a teary-eyed expelled Samajwadi Party general secretary Ramgopal Yadav urged the public to support current Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
During the press conference, Rajya Sabha MP Ramgopal Yadav who was expelled by Shivpal Yadav on instruction of Mulayam Singh from the post of Samajwadi Party general secretary on October 23, 2016 alleged that Shivpal Yadav is distributing party tickets in a ‘whimsical manner’ in Uttar Pradesh.

Amidst rumours that Shivpal is vying for his Rajya Sabha position, a visibly broken Ramgopal reached out to the voters of Uttar Pradesh asking them to help him receive justice, claiming that he is not greedy.
Ramgopal Yadav has familial connections with the Samajwadi Party, being a cousin of Mulayam Singh and Shivpal Yadav and is a staunch supporter of CM Akhilesh Yadav. In the recent family feud, ahead of the UP 2017 Assembly Elections Ramgopal sent letters to party workers endorsing Akhilesh as the future of Samajwadi Party.
