Uttar Pradesh's ruling Samajwadi Party has witnessed a lot of crises in past few months. Mulayam Singh Yadav is trying hard to save the party, which was founded some 25 year ago.
But in-between all this political crises many get confused, that exactly what initiated this huge crises in Samajwadi Party.

August 14, 2016
Shivpal Yadav threatened to resign at a congregation in Manipur, citing the reason that officers were ignoring him and there is increase in land grab cases in the state.

August 15, 2016
Ahead of Shivpal Yadav's statement, elder brother Mulaya Singh Yadav came in support and said, "if my brother leaves party there will be factions within the SP".
September 12, 2016
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav came in story and took a major step by sacking two of his ministers- Gayatri Prasad Prajapati and Raj Kishore Singh- over corruption charges.

September 13, 2016
Mulayam Sing Yadav initiated the beginning of worst crises in Samajwadi Party by replacing his son Akhilesh Yadav and appointed Shivpal Yadav as the state unit chief.
September 13, 2016
In turn, Akhilesh yadav stripped Shivpal Yadav of three ministries, on the same day, Shivpal was appointed as the state unit chief. In addition, Akhilesh also removed the Chief Secretary Deepak Singhal, who known to be close to Shivpal.

In order to resolve the party crises, Mulayam Singh Yadav held separate meetings with Akhilesh and Shivpal to resolve the issues.
September 16, 2016
Ahead of the meeting with father Mulayam Singh CM Akhilesh Yadav restored the portfolios which he had snatched from his uncle Shivpal Yadav. Akhilesh also took back Gayatri Prajapati, Mining Minister, whom he had earlier sacked.
September 19, 2016
Shivpal Yadav sacked two of the youth wing leaders. One of them was MLC Arvind Singh Yadav, nephew of his cousin Ram Gopal Yadav, who was on the side of Akilesh during the power struggle. The other one who got sacked was senior youth wing leader known to be close to the CM.

UP CM expanded his cabinet and induced 10 new ministers in the party, including Gayatri Parasd Prajapati, Manoj Pandey and Shivakand Ojha, who were all sacked by the him in past.

Party MLC Udayveer Singh, who wrote a letter to SP Supremo Mulayam Singh in Akhilesh's support, expelled from the party for six years,

In a swift move of retaliation, UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav sacked his uncle Shivpal Yadav along with three other ministers from the government.
October 24, 2016
Making a counter-attack, MP Ram Gopal Yadav from the party for six years, who was a supporter and backer of Akhilesh Yadav. Shivpal Singh Yadav also levelled allegations against Ram Gopal of having links with BJP. Ram Gopal written open letter to party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, in which he stated that only Akhilesh Yadav can lead the party to the victory in the Assemble poll.

Mulayam Singh Yadav calls first press briefing after the dismissal of Shivpal Yadav from cabinet by son and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Mulayam Singh emphasised the unity within the party and family and confirmed that Akhilesh will remain CM. Regarding next CM candidate for upcoming UP polls, Mulayam Singh said that they will wait for mandate before finalising candidate. Shivpal Yadav along with the 3 other ministers ousted by Akhliesh from the cabinet were later reinstated.
