The Income Tax Department recovered unaccounted income and investments worth Rs 130 crore from Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar, sources said on Tuesday.

The Income Tax Department recovered unaccounted income and investments worth Rs 130 crore from Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar, sources said on Tuesday.

His residence was raided by the IT Department on July 27 and he has been questioned twice about the matter.

Kartar Singh claims that the raid was a witch-hunt conducted by the Central government.

Rs 1 crore in cash and jewellery has also been recovered from the AAP MLA and his brother.

When asked about the matter, Kartar blatantly ignored the questions.

Tanwar came under the IT Department’s notice when he bought a farmhouse and made the complete payment in cash.

In the raid, a large number of documents were discovered listing unaccounted property. IT is currently conducting an investigation.
