Amid speculations that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will soon be elevated as party President, Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani took a jibe over Gandhi and said Congress’ this move will bring better days for BJP.
In an interview to Times of India, when asked about speculations about Rahul, she said, “It is achche din for us.”
There was high speculation surrounding elevation of the 45-year-old Gandhi as the Congress president, but the party dismissed any such immediate possibility even as Sonia Gandhi remained tightlipped on the issue.
On Wednesday, Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh said that the time is right for Rahul to take over the mantle of the party from his mother.
Soon after Amrinder’s statement, Media reports predicting a Major reshuffle on cards in All Indian Congress Committee emerged.
According to reports, Congress Working Committee (CWC) is expected to meet this month and take the decision.
