The former Chhattisgarh CM and senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi has threatened to quit Congress party as a protest against Rahul Gandhi’s ‘planned’ elevation in the party.
Earlier on Wednesday, there were reports that Rahul Gandhi, who is currently the Congress vice-president, being elevated to the post of the party president as part of the Congress ‘surgery’.

Meanwhile, BJP leader and Union HRD minister Smriti Irani has taken a jibe at the Congress vice-president by saying “Rahul Gandhi being elevated as Congress president means ‘achhe din’ for us (BJP).”
