Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday addressed the press conference in Delhi and revealed the real reason behind quitting Rajya Sabha.
While addressing the media, Sidhu said that he resigned as a BJP parliamentarian because he had been asked to stay away from Punjab.
The 52-year-old cricketer-turned-politician said that he was asked to not even look at Punjab. He further questioned, “How can I quit my roots? This is the fourth time it happened, and it was hard to accept this time.”
Though Sidhu spoke a lot about quitting Rajya Sabha, he did not mention about joining AAP or wished to be Punjab CM candidate.
Sidhu spoke for the first time a week after his surprise resignation. Speculation is riff that he might head to Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party ahead of crucial elections in Punjab.
However, his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu last week addressed the media where she described her husband’s silence as a “maun vrat (vow of silence)” for Guru Poornima.
