Union Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that people’s faith in politics and politicians has fallen post independence.
Singh made the statement while addressing Rajya Sabha, he said ” I believe that post independence there has been a fall in people’s faith in politics & politicians.”
“There is a need for all of us to take this ‘Loss of credibility’ as a challenge. This challenge can only be overcome when people of nation will nt merely see us as political workers but as socio-political workers,” he added.
Condemning Gujarat incident where dalit youth were allegedly thrashed on July 11 for allegedly skinning a cow at Una in Gir-Somnath district, Singh said “what happened in Gujarat is highly condemnable & such incidents must not be repeated.”
“We should not only be concerned about physical violence as verbal abuses equally insults & hurts a person,”he added.
