Parliament Day 10: Demonetisation Protests Likely To Continue

Winter Session of Parliament enters Day 10, still without any significant progress in proceedings as protests over the demonetisation move disrupt both Houses. Opposition continues to demand active presence and response of Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the demonetisation decision. PM Modi may attend Parliament, but protests will likely continue.

Opposition parties that had united to protest against demonetisation seemingly separated in their style of protest on Monday, the day designated by West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee as Bharat Bandh. While Left parties, primarily led by Mamata Banerjee continued in their ‘Bharat Bandh’ other opposition parties including Congress stated that the nation has already been ‘Bandh’ since demonetisation and they are carrying out Jan Aakrosh Diwas.

Both protests however did not disrupt the lives of the public.
