As torrential rains continue to lash the capital and following the release of water from Palla barrage in Haryana, water levels of Yamuna crossed the danger mark.

Precautionary flood control measures have been administered in the city by the Flood Control Department.

In light of the incident, traffic from headed towards the Loha Pul  was diverted Saturday.

This has presented an unpleasant situation for the people who live in slums on the banks of the river.

Throughout the stretch of the river in Delhi, the river has 20-25 slums lined across its banks.
When it rains, the occupants have to move from their homes as it so happens that the waters wash away their shacks.

The warning level of Yamuna is 204m and the danger mark is 204.83m.
