Zakir Naik has been a name of controversies for a while now. Whether it is for his fiery statements ranging from calling out all Muslims to be terrorists or not acknowledging Osama Bin Laden as a terrorist, Naik has been making news for quite some time now.
This time this Mumbai-based preacher has been in the news after reports emerged that the attackers in Dhaka may have been inspired from his teachings.

A doctor by profession, Naik is is the president of the Islamic Research Foundation and is known to be a scholar on comparative religion.
He owns Peace TV and claims to have a viewership of 100 million, athough Indian government banned the channel in 2012.
One of his famous comments on Muslims and terrorism: “When a robber sees a policeman he’s terrified. So for a robber, a policeman is a terrorist. So in this context, every Muslim should be a terrorist to the robber.”
According to Naik, 9/11 attacks were an inside job and refuses to acknowledge Osama Bin Laden as a terrorist.
He has hit out at sportspersons like Sania Mirza for her choice of attire. His also said that wife-beating was not necessarily a bad thing in the Muslim world.
Another infamous statement was “Girls shouldn’t be sent to schools where they lose their virginity by the time they pass out. Schools should be shut down. They should not be allowed to wear gold ornaments.”
Naik is banned from entering the United Kingdom and Canada for his inflammatory speeches.
For the recent controversy surrounding him, Naik will be holding a press conference to present his side on July 12.
