A portion of a wall, that was under restoration, collapsed in Jaisalmer’s Golden Fort on Thursday.
Fortunately, there were no casualties as workers had gone for lunch and there were no tourists in the vicinity.
The site has under restoration work for two weeks by the Archaeological Survey of India and has been listed as a a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Authorities have taken preventive measures to keep locals and tourists away from the site. Barricades have been placed on nearby roads and policemen have also been stationed in the area.
