Heavy rains are hitting hard people in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich town. According to reports, more than 70 houses have collapsed in the area due to incessant rains.
Banshidhar Baudh,UP’s MoS,Social & SC/ST Welfare said “It has been known that houses of over 70 people collapsed due to heavy rains, will forward list to UP CM to help them avail compensation.”
“Due to incessant and heavy rains in the region, my house collapsed,”he added.
Bahraich is the worst-affected district in the floods caused by Saryu and Ghaghra rivers, which have suddenly risen with the release of water from Nepal. The entire Terai region has been affected since Saturday.
Officials said as many as 14 people have died in flood-related incidents in Bahraich till Sunday.
