Locals in Patna set two AC coaches of Danapur South Bihar express on fire following an incident where the train had run over and killed a student on Friday.
The student was killed when he attempted to cross the railway track and accidentally got run over by the train.
Locals came out in protest on the tracks, obstructing the movement of the train.
The police had arrived at the scene to aid in the clearing of the tracks but, they were attacked by the angry protesters who tossed stones at the officers.
The train was left stranded for two hours.
So far, no casualties have been reported. All passengers were detrained before the coaches were torched.
