Home Minister Rajnath Singh is to chair a meeting of top Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) officials at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday.

The agenda of the meet would be to review the prevailing internal security situation in border areas.

Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval arrived at the MHA to attend the meet earlier on Friday.

This week, India had retaliated against Pakistan amidst growing tensions with its neighbour. On the intervening night of September 28 and 29, Indian Army had conducted a surgical strike on seven terror launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

The strike was a response to a recent terror attack where militants stormed an army camp in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir, kiling 19 Indian soldiers.
