The Sahara group on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that the health condition of its chief Subrata Roy was deteriorating and that he would not be able to survive another summer in jail.
Meanwhile, Market regulator SEBI submitted its status report in the process of Selling Sahara group’s assets to the Supreme Court.
SEBI told the apex court that the process of selling 67 properties of the Sahara group will begin next week and that it would take a time of 4 months to complete.
Founder and chairman of the Sahara group, Subrata Roy was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police in connection with the Rs. 24,000 crore deposits that his company has not refunded to investors on 28 February 2014.
He was subsequently shifted to the Tihar Jail in the national capital on 4 March 2014 and has been lodged there since then.
