SC Pulls Up Centre, Chhattisgarh Govt For Not Being Able To Tackle Naxal Issue

The Supreme Court on Friday pulled up centre and Chhattisgarh govt for not taking appropriate steps for a peaceful resolution of naxal problem in the state.

The apex court says,“You are not taking the problem very seriously and the problem is being aggravated. You have to take a pragmatic view.”

The Supreme Court agreed to hear plea of social activist Nandini Sunder seeking quashing of FIR against her and other professors in a murder case in Chhattisgarh.

Sunder told the apex court that she along other professors of Delhi University and JNU was being targeted by Chhattisgarh govt for fighting for tribals right in state.

Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh govt assured the apex court that no action would be taken against Nandini Sunder till next hearing after the court was about to stay the FIR against her.
