The Supreme Court on Friday instructed National Panther Party’s (NPP) chief Bhim Singh to visit Kashmir and deliver a status report following the party’s PIL which sought to impose Governor’s rule in the agitated state.
“If you are so concerned, you should visit Kashmir and have a first-hand info over ground reality,” the apex court stated.
NPP had earlier urged the court to step into the matter in light of recent unrest in the valley.
Nearly 70 people have died in riots that ensued after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in an encounter on July 8.
The next hearing for the case will be held two weeks later.
