Controversial right-wing leader Sadhvi Prachi on Wednesday offered a reward of Rs 50 lakh for ‘beheading’ Islamic preacher and televangelist Zakir Naik.
The announcement was made while speaking to media persons at Roorkee in Uttarakhand.
While speaking to reporters, Prachi said that Naik was not an Islamic preacher but a “terrorist”.
Ex-VHP leader said that she was announcing the reward in her personal capacity.
The Indian Express reported that Sadhvi urged the government to investigate the links of all “such preachers working in madrasas” with terrorists.
Meanwhile, Prachi also told the newspaper that she had received an anonymous threat post announcing the reward.
She said the caller threatened to abduct her and she will be filing a police complaint.
On Tuesday, a Shia group, known as Hussaini Tigers, had announced a Rs 15 lakh award on Naik’s head.
