‘God of cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar is known around the globe for all good deeds, in a latest edition to his list, the little master has donated 76 lakhs to a school in distress.
According to reports, the legendary cricketer sent the money earlier this year after a school in rural West Bengal, had written a letter to him asking help to build and renovate the buildings of the institution.
Later, the Rajya Sabha MP responded, saying the funds were being released.
Tendulkar donated the money under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development scheme, claims report.
HT quoted principal of Swarnamoyee Sasmal Sikhsa Niketan stating “construction of a library, a laboratory and a common room for girls are underway at the school. The school will invite the retired cricketer for the inaugural ceremony of the new facilities.”
