After the failure of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi’s flagship campaign ‘Khaat Pe Charcha’, Rahul took a dig at Vijay Mallya on Wednesday.
Following the havoc at the ‘Khat Sabha’ where hundreds of cots, placed for the seating of the audience were taken away by onlookers, who swooped in the minute Gandhi stepped out of the rally.
In a statement, the Congress VP took a jab at BJP, when he said, “Stealing a cot and you’re a thief. Steal 9,000 crore and you’re a defaulter.”
Earlier, Rahul questioned the centre on how they could let Mallya leave the country. Mallya, who is accused of being a “willful defaulter” under Indian law, owes millions in loans to a consortium of banks after the Kingfisher airlines took a nosedive.
In March this year, the banks had moved the Supreme Court to prevent Mallya from going abroad and a non-bailable warrant was filed against Mallya arrest.
