Hollywood actor Pierce Brosnan, who is known for its iconic roles in the film series like James Bond, has claimed that Pan Bahar, a pan masala manufacturer, had violated the contract by falsely representing him as brand ambassador of its entire product line including tabacco-infused “mouth freshner”.
The actor was recently in headlines for endorsing Pan Bahar’s pan pasala, to which he said that he was not aware about the product has infusion of tabacco.
The actor expressed his grievances through a statement saying, his “heartfelt apologies” for causing offence, if any, and he blamed Pan Bahar for ‘grossly manipulating’ media outlets into believing that he endorsed the brand.
“Having endured, in my own personal life, the loss of my first wife and daughter as well as numerous friends to cancer, I am fully committed to supporting women’s healthcare and research programs that improve human health and alleviate suffering,” his statement read.
According to the reports of People.com, Brosnan’s contract explicitly stated that he was to endorse a “breath freshener/tooth whitener”. He claimed that, he committed only to advertise for just one product as Pan Bahar allegedly claimed it was an “all-natural containing neither tobacco, supari, nor any other harmful ingredient.”
Moreover, Brosnan has asked the company to exclude him from its advertising campaign, and also claimed that he had no prior knowledge of endorsing something that would harm one’s health.
