French drug maker Sanofi has recalled few batches of its painkiller ‘Combiflam’ in India after Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) found the lots were substandard.
Combiflam is one of Sanofi’s five biggest brands in India.
Some batches of Combiflam were found to be “not of standard quality” as they failed disintegration tests, said the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) in notices posted on its website.
The tablet is made at Sanofi’s factory in Ankleshwar, Gujarat.
In February too DCGI issued an alert stating that the drug was not of standard quality.
