Protests in Bengaluru by Garment workers against new provident fund rules turned violent today as vehicles were burnt and stone-throwing was reported in parts of the city.

According to reports, the protest also blocked traffic on the highway, causing massive three-hour traffic jams.
The new rule states that people can withdraw only a part of their provident fund before retirement. The workers want the government to roll back this rule.
