People across the country today celebrated the festival of snakes- ‘Nag Panchami’ by offering milk and prayers to the snake deity.
While prayers were offered in Karnataka’s Hubli, devotees in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad city offered milk to snakes to mark the day.
People in Agra too offered prayers to the serpent in various temples to mark the occasion.
Nag Panchami is a traditional worship of snakes or serpents observed by Hindus throughout India and Nepal. On this day, prayers are offered to the serpent on the fifth day of bright half of Lunar month of Shravan.
