After clinching the Assam Assembly election 2106, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has another reason to rejoice.
Sarfaraz Hussain topped the Assam state board’s class 10 examination by securing 590 marks out of 600.
16-year-old Sarfaraz is the first Muslim to pass from Sankardev Sishu Niketan school, one of the schools run by the Vidya Bharati-affiliated Sishu Shiksha Samiti.
Vidya Bharti is the education wing of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
The results for the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) were declared on Tuesday.
“I am so happy today that I don’t have words to express. Would like thank my parents,school teachers, ” Sarfaraz siad while expressing his joy on the occassion.
According to reports, Sarfaraz’s father, Ajmal Hussain said that he sent his son to study in the school because it provided free education.
“It would have otherwise been difficult to sustain his studies with my meagre income as a waiter in a small restaurant,” he told the media.
