Rains brought the financial capital of India, Mumbai to a halt on Friday even city is likely to witness 4.55 meters long high tide at around 1:38 PM on Friday.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy to very heavy rainfall warning alert in some parts of the city.
“Intermitten rain or showers very likely to occur in city and suburbs. Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at some places,” IMD wrote in its alert.
Thane and Navi Mumbai municipal corporations have also been alerted of possible heavy rains over the next 48 hours in their respective jurisdictions by the IMD.
The Thane Municipal Corporation has meanwhile started working on an action plan to tackle any rain related crisis to surface in the city.
