Multiple Ex-Gratia Announced For Indore-Patna Express Derailment Victims

At least 95 people have been killed and over 150 injured when 14 coaches of the Indore-Patna Express derailed near Pukhrayan in Kanpur Dehat district in Sunday early morning.

Following the devastating accident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu have announced ex-gratia for the next of kin of derailment victims, and for those injured in the incident.

PM Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 Lakhs for the next of kin of deceased, and Rs 50,000 for those seriously injured.

In addition, UP CM Akhilesh Yadav has announced an amount of Rs 5 Lakh to families of the deceased, Rs 50,000 for people sustaining serious injuries and Rs 25,000 for those who have minor injuries.

 

Monitoring the situation personally, Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu has notified an ex-gratia of Rs 3.5 Lakh for families of the deceased, Rs 50,000 for those critically injured and Rs 25,000 for persons having minor injuries.
