Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan On Saturday called an emergency meeting with top officials to review the situation of flood affected areas in Madha Pradesh.
Later, Chouhan held an interaction session with media and requested people in flood affected areas to dial a 24*7 helpline for rescue.
Chouha said “1079 is the emergency number for rescue operations in flood affected area, will work 24×7.”
Talking about the rescue operation, Chauhan said “food packets to be distributed in flood affected areas in Bhopal; around 4000 people rescued in Satna.”
“As soon as admin got news that flood affected areas were getting worse, they actively started taking measures,” he added.
From last 3 days, heavy rains in Bhopal, Rewa & Sagar and others places in Madhya Pradesh caused flood like situation and waterlogging.
Many villages were cut off from the rest of the state as the heavy downpour resulted in submergence of various roads.
Army personnel have been pressed into service to rescue people marooned following inundation at many places.
